It's the great pumpkin!

Fall has arrived in the Midwest! Whenever that crisp cool air blows in it always brings with it the pumpkin farmers bringing out their pumpkins and fall goodies. I love fall and almost all things pumpkin. ALMOST all. I have a confession to make. I really don't like pumpkin pie all that much. I actually love the pumpkin part and the cool whip part.... but not so much the crust part. So, my solution? Pumpkin dump cake! YUP! All the goodness of pumpkin pie.... minus the pie crust part. OH and it's heavenly on a cold day like today with a nice hot cup of coffee. MMMMM enjoy!

A wedding party cake

A coworker of mine asked me to make a wedding cake for a party for her and her new husband. They got married in Vegas and now are having a small get together here. She asked that I just do anything with white and cornstalk blue, which were her wedding colors. I think it turned out pretty good! She was delighted with it and can't wait to enjoy it!

CakeBall Order

I need more cakeball orders so that I can perfect the method! These little guys are sooo yummy, but they take so much work to make them look good! I'm playing around with different varieties... threw some powdered sugar ones in there, some with coconut, and then the standard candy coated ones. What other coatings would you love to try? I'm open to any and all suggestions!

Chicago Blackhawks Cake

A dear friend of mine lost her uncle in a car accident and asked if I could make her a Chicago Blackhawks cake for the memorial service. I think it turned out pretty well and she was so happy with it.

Rivalry... OSU cupcakes

As a UofM fan (GO BLUE!) it's hard to accept anyone who is an OSU fan into your life. So you can imagine the pain in my stomach when I received an order for OSU cupcakes! ACK! What's a girl to do? So.... I smiled politely and said "sure I can make you a batch. But I'm going to have to charge you double!" Hahaha :O)

A Barney Birthday

A good friend of mine asked me if I could make her daughter a birthday cake and cupcakes for her 2nd birthday. I of course jumped at the opportunity. I was a little nervous at first because I don't really do character cakes.... but I think Barney turned out GREAT! And the cupcakes looked fabulous as well. Big peaks of buttercream frosting pipped high on top with multicolored nonpareils! Yummy. Barney was a labor of love indeed! All the pipping and detail that went into it to make it perfect for her really paid off because she LOVED it. And so did her dear little daughter! Yeah! Happy Birthday Maddie!!!
