Hannah Montana Guitar Cake

When my niece turned 4 she decided that she was going to have a Hannah Montana birthday theme and what would be any rock star party without a guitar cake? This one was actually really easy to make and turned out sooo cute!!! And really tasty! It was gone within minutes of blowing out the candles!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Birthday Cake

Since having my daughter it's been fun to play around with a few different ideas for birthday parties. This year for her 2nd birthday we chose The Very Hungry Caterpillar as the theme since it's her favorite book. I started planning her party right after she turned one, yeah I know I'm weird like that, and yes I already know what we will be doing for her 3rd birthday! At any rate, when we decided on The Very Hungry Caterpillar I decided I was going to make her cake the caterpillar from the book. It really was easier than I thought and it turned out adorable!

We also served all the food that the caterpillar eats in the book and one of the things was "one cupcake". Rather than making a bunch of regular cupcakes I used my Wilton Giant Cupcake pan and made this one.

When good cupcakes go bad.... Think upside down!

Don't you just hate it when your cupcakes don't come out perfect? I mean really, how is it that you use the same measuring cup for each one yet some overflow or some don't rise as much as the others? I don't get it, but I hate to throw out a good cupcake....so the next time this happens to you just do what I do. Turn that cupcake upside down! Yep that's right. Peal the pretty little cupcake liner you were planning on using and flatten out a regular ol' white one. Or I suppose you could use one of your pretty liners too, that's up to you. At any rate, once you flatten out your cupcake liner of choice place your "not-so-perfect" cupcake upside down in the middle of it. Then frost the sides and the top, you may even want to put some frosting in a bag and pipe around the base of the upside down cupcake, and then decorate it. Pretty cute uh? Now that "not-so-perfect" cupcake has turned into a cute little personal size cake that people will think took you twice as long to make!

Rattle cupcakes for a baby shower

I has my first party today for a baby shower. The hostess was open to whatever I had in mind so I showed her these and she loved them. I think they turned out so super cute!!!!
A simple yellow cake with sprinkles added to make it a "funfetti" style.
Yummy buttercream frosting (and super easy! I'll share my recipe with you soon)
The decorations are what really makes these so cute. For the rattle part you buy 4in lollipop sticks and tie a bow of your choice (I used "It's a girl! ribbon that had rattles on it too!!) and then melt white chocolate and dip the end of the stick in just enough to get a small amount on the end, then attach a Life Savors breath mint to the end and let set on a cookie sheet. After you frost the cupcakes, trying to make them as smooth as possible, you melt yellow candies and pour into a decorator bag with a small tip. Zig zag the melted candies back and forth across the cupcake to make a thick line. The colored dots are large sprinkles by Wilton, which you set in the candy before it cools and hardens. Once those are set you simply insert the lollipop stick that you made before into the cupcake and Viola! the cutest little rattle cupcakes!

S'Mores Cupcakes!

YUM! YUM! YUM!!
Everyone loves S'More's, right? And everyone loves cupcakes, right? So when the two come together it is seriously delish!!!
You'll need:
1 box devils food cake prepared in cupcakes
Frosting:
2.5 sticks of butter room temp.
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 t vanilla
16oz of fluff
Beat the butter until light and fluffy. Beat in 1/4 cup powdered sugar at a time, add vanilla and then whip in the fluff. (sneak in a little taste at this point and fall in love!)

The three most important things of any great S'more... marshmallow, graham crackers and milk chocolate!

I crushed graham crackers up to dust the tops

I love it when my cupcakes all turn out perfect!

I put the frosting in a bag and piped it on top of each cupcake nice and thick! Dusted each one with crushed graham crackers, and added a small piece of graham cracker and a piece of Hershey bar!

The verdict... This is my new favorite cupcake ever!!!! Totally melt in your mouth ooey gooey delish!!!

Carrot Cake Truffles

These are the easiest little piece of heaven! Seriously. So easy to make and they are sooo delish! I found them on Bakerella's site a while back and just fell in love! We decided to make carrot cake truffles for Easter with white chocolate and decorated them like eggs. They turned out adorable!

Make cake mix as directed on box and let cool.
Crumble in a bowl and add one can of cream cheese frosting and mix well. You will more then likely need to use your hands for this...and it gets messy!!!
Then I put the cake mixture in the refrigerator overnight to set so it's easier to roll into balls.
Once you roll them into balls you will want to melt the chocolate according to the package and set on wax paper to set. Sprinkle with your favorite decorations or leave plain and enjoy!!!

Stop the cuteness!!!! The egg ones turned out sooo cute!
